What's up?! BREW UP!

I first heard about BREW UP! was around August of 2014 I was not really paying much attention to it mainly because there was no one there to go with and I thought it was just another frappe shop. But things changed when the fire nation attacked * oops, wrong intro *, but a coffee-addict friend asked if we could hang out at BREW UP and I said yes !
Located at the second floor of UP ISSI, Virata Hall, Emiliio Jacinto Street, corner University Avenue, UP Diliman , UP BREW by Palengkera is a wonderful place to hang out with friends, do homework, read papers or books, or just wind up and break free from stressful acads / office life.

We went there around 5:30 PM (Thursday) and we were not really sure if it is open or not. Luckily They are open from Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00 AM till 6:00 PM (Talk about luck hahaha). The "ninjas" (I think that's what They call the waiters / waitress) are very accommodating. They ushered us to our seats and happily handed the menu to us.

BREW UP menu

Their menu is printed on old paper and I must say that their menu list was very Filipino. I had fun reading the names of their drinks and dishes.

KAPE:
  • Pag-ibig sa Giling Mo *served hot or cold,* (Hario v60 Pourovers, Inverted Aeropress, French Press, The Sock)
  • Cold Drip
Aerospresso Drinks:
  • Halik ni Palengkera (carabao milk+chocnut+tablea)
  • Caffe Tablea (Pinoy Moccha)
  • Caffe Magatas
HINDI KAPE:
  • Tsokolate Tablea
  • Boses Palengkera (strong Salabat)
  • Homemade Calamansi Iced Tea
  • Fruit Soda
  • Fruit Shake
Pugon Pandesal:
  • Hamon Bautista (ham and cheese)
  • Hubadero (skinless longganisa)
  • Anak ng Tinapa! (smoked bangus spread)
To Share (or not to share....):
  • Prichon Wrap
  • Chipster
Salad/Rice/Pasta
  • Pakong Pako
  • Turbo Chicken Rice
  • Sam's sardinasosyal

AND they have Special of the day. <3

I ordered cold Pag-ibig sa Giling Mo (Sagada coffee beans on Hario v60 pourover) because they said it is the mildest coffee available, and Hubadero. My friend ordered hot Pag-ibig sa Giling mo (with the strongest coffee beans which i forgot but also on Hario v60 pourover process) and Hamon Bautista.

Hubadero: Pandesal with skinless Longganisa, tomato and lettuce
Pag-ibig sa Giling Mo on P-Jars

Hamon Bautista: Quiapo's famed excelete ham and Queso de Bola

They serve just the coffee. They give a pitcher of milk and sugar (brown or white) so you can regulate the creaminess and sweetness of your coffee.

Another thing that I liked about BREW UP is they have an open kitchen so you can really see how they create your coffee and meals. You can also see what ingredients they use and also the instruments too. The cold drip process wasn't available but I had fun watching the barista make our coffee using Hario v60 pourover process.

BREW UP is windowless so you can enjoy the scenery outside while sipping your coffee. (isn't that amazing?!). It's like you are in the province surrounded by trees and birds.
