Event Management: Art of Passion and Hard work #UPTMS

These quotations on planning and management serve as good definition on what is the central topic of the recent Management Solution Series seminar held at UP Asian Institute of Tourism last Saturday, 22^nd of November.

The said MSS seminar, with the theme “Making it Happen”, was organized by University of the Philippines Tourism Management Society which aims to educate and teach the students on how to manage events.

Several students from University of the Philippines Diliman, University of the Philippines Los Banos, System Technology Institute, Pamantasang Lungsod ng Maynila, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, National College of Business and Arts and Technological Institute of the Philippines attended and participated in the interactive seminar.

 Of course, the seminar was a complete success because of the notable speakers invited to discuss and present the ins and outs on events management.

Ms. Darleen Tecson, a professional events coordinator shared some of her experiences in handling jobs like these. She also discussed important details on organizing local and even worldwide events such as seminars, meetings and conventions.

 

On the other hand, Mr. Jeffrey Benitez, also a professional events coordinator, discussed the specifics on planning and managing celebration events such as wedding, concerts and debut. He showed actual examples on allotting estimated costs on the respective events.

To make the atmosphere inside the seminar room, he even conducted a quick activity on “8 to be great”. Everyone felt alive and was energized by these inspirational and motivating tips on being productive and successful.

A forum was also conducted to answer the student's questions and other clarifications about the lectures and topics discussed.

All in all, the seminar was really a success not only on the number of attendance and schools invited, but also on the contents and topics discussed.

Everyone left the seminar room inspired, motivated and educated – and that includes me.
