The view of Cebu from Tops |
During the Holy week last April 2014, we flew to visit Cebu.
It was really a memorable trip because it was my first time to go there, I had
the chance to see some historical places, and it is also my first time to
experience the attractions of Cebu like the edge coaster, the shooting range,
and swimming with the whale sharks!
We stayed at the Crown Regency Hotel and Towers, the 40-storey
hotel in the province, for 2 nights and
I enjoyed staying there because of the fun activities the hotel offers. But
first, I should tell what we did on our first day.
Magellan Monument |
Lapu-lapu Shrine. A 20 meter bronze statue. |
And then we visited the Magellan’s cross, the famous
landmark in Cebu City. It was planted by Ferdinand Magellan in 1521!

It was really an honor to visit and see a very important and
a remarkable place in our country.
Next, we visited the Philippine Taoist Temple, which is
located at the Beverly Hills Subdivision in Cebu City.

As we entered the place, I felt like I was in China because of the architecture of the temple. There was also a big dragon!
Taking pictures of the sacred grounds of the temple is prohibited, so I just took pictures outside.
Also, Cebu is known for producing high quality guitars, so
we decided to go to one of the famous guitar factories, Alegre in Lapu-Lapu
City.
We saw the different kinds of wood used in making guitars.

The city tour was really tiring but worth it!
On our first night in the hotel, we were given 2 free rides
in Sky Experience Adventure, which is located on top of Crown Regency. But we
only tried the Edge Coaster because we just ate. It was really exciting because
I experienced seeing the whole city of Cebu. Riders could control the angle of
the coach so that it would be more thrilling!

On our second day...
I tried shooting at the Club Ultima, Regency 2 for the first
time. I'm not really into this sport so I really dont know how to shoot. I had
6 shots, but only one shot touched the board. Hehe. That was how hard it is for
me! But still, the experience was what we paid for.

On our third day...
Last but not the least.
We traveled 3-4 hours by car going to Tan-awan Oslob, Cebu
for whale shark watching. We left the hotel at 5 am because it's better to be
in the place early in the morning so we could still swim with the whale sharks
for a long time. The Registration fee is 300 pesos for local tourists, snorkel
is 200 pesos and resort entrance fee is 70 pesos. We also rented an underwater
camera for 500 pesos. We got our pictures through a CD!
There was also an orientation before swimming, and we
learned that we were required to not put any sunblock because it could harm the
whale sharks.
There were also guides that took pictures of us with the
whale sharks.

There were planktons that stung us. But no worries, it’s not
that painful. It’s normal in the area.
I was really amazed because I got the chance to swim and see
the whale sharks up close! Indeed, it was really a memorable experience, and I
just have to say that it’s more fun in Cebu!
And after a very tiring day, before going back to Manila, we
ate at Fabulous Fifties Cafe Bar and Restaurant in Crown Regency. The restaurant is so cool because of its
vintage theme!

And that ends our memorable Cebu trip!
I am really happy that I had the chance to visit Cebu, a
very beautiful and noteworthy place!
