Sweet Nothings: Gillian Gail Dessert Buffet

Photo from their Facebook Page

Finally had the chance to visit this intriguing store that opened up near my place. Gillian Gail is, as you guessed, a dessert buffet store which offers a variety of store made desserts such as cakes, ice cream, and other delectable desserts. You will also find rice meals to cleanse your palate.

What I got: Panna Cota, French Macaron, Cakes, Blueberry Cheesecake Shot

My boyfriend and I visited their store at around 11:30pm, which was just mere 30 minutes before closing time. They asked us if we still wanted to try the buffet even with just thirty minutes left but we said yes because, well, we were up to the challenge! Also, the usual sugar rush is 180 for an hour, but if you go from 9pm-12mn, the price goes down to 150. Just add 30 for unlimited coffee and 60 for unlimited iced tea.

My boyfriend hoarding desserts! :)

I love how the place was designed and how quaint it was. It really gave you a whimsical feel and just took you back to your childhood wherein places like this (C'mon guys, unlimited desserts? Who didn't dream of that as a kid?) existed only in imagination.

Happy tummy :)

Everything in the store is top quality. Everything was delectable and yummy. My boyfriend and I were able to chat up with the owners, Gail (yup, the store is named after her!) and her boyfirend, Choi, and they were able to tell us that the desserts here were done in store and that they use high quality materials to produce these treats. They made us try their specialty treats: Fried Palitaw and Creme Brulee. Both treats didn't disappoint! Also, they make sure to torch the Creme Brulee first right before you eat it so that you will get the best taste. The coffee they served was also amazing. They use Colombian Coffee, which bitterness complimented the sweets we ate that night.

Overall, it was a great night with great food and great company! I would definitely recommend this to everyone out there who loves sweets and would like to try something new. Visit Gillian Gail Dessert Buffet at the 3F Oracle Hotel and Residences in Katipunan, in front of Ateneo de Manila University. :)
