Experiencing Bucas Grande

Last October 17 we had an Out of the Classroom Learning Activity(OCLA) at Surigao. Our plane already took off and we were up in the sky for about 20 minutes when the captain made an announcement. We re-routed to Manila because of some technical difficulties and our delayed flight resulted to a cancelled flight. Good thing we were AIT students and we knew the Air Passenger's Bill of Rights. We spent the rest of the day in a business hotel and flew to Surigao the following morning.

We rode a van then a bangka to Socorro. The bangka ride was very refreshing for our lungs-the clean air, pristine water and great company.

Our itinerary for the trip was kind of crammed so we immediately rode the habal habal right after we settled in in our resort.

Kudos to our habal habal drivers who knew very well the roads even at night.

We had a lot stop overs in order to appreciate the priceless view.

We went ziplining at Kapihan View Park. It was about 700-meter long ride and when I looked to my left, the ocean's breeze was mesmerizing.

The following morning we rode the bangka to Bucas Grande and enjoyed the beaches, the caves, the cliff diving, swimming with jellyfishes and had lunch at the shore.

Taken right before we went in a cave and climbed our way to the cliff wherein we braved ourselves and jumped the 15-feet high cliff.

Bucas Grande is must-visit place in the Philippines. The rock formations are somewhat a replica of what the rock formations in Palawan.

I just hope that tourists who will visit Bucas Grande will continue to respect and preserve the place.

 Definitely for keeps!
