Last October 2013, my high school friend and I went on a trip to Bangkok for 5 days and 4 nights. During our first day, we went to Chatuchak Weekend Market, also known as 'Jatujak'. Frankly, it was a wrong decision for us because we spent almost half of our money here.
The Chatuckak Weekend Market is a huge shopping area which houses numerous stalls and sells different types of goods--from clothes to books to souvenir items. Since it only opens during weekends, Chatuchak is always packed with people, especially tourists. And because the market is so big, it would be quite impossible to visit all the stalls in one day.
To get to Chatuchak, one option is to take the skytrain (BTS) to Mo Chit Station and take exit no. 1. Another option is to take the MRT to Chatuchak Park station and take exit no. 1.
Here is a picture of us when we got out of the train station.

Here are some of the stalls in Chatuchak. The prices of the goods were not that cheap. Since a great number of foreign tourists come to shop here, the price eventually became steep.

Well, our tummies definitely deserve a treat (or two) after a tiring day of shopping and haggling.

We also bought some Thai street foods.

This weekend market is definitely one of the places one should visit in Bangkok. It is not just a place where people can buy the things they want. It is also a place where different cultures meet. Going here is definitely a unique experience for me.
If you plan to go there, the market is usually open during Saturdays and Sundays, from 9:00am until 6:00pm. It is also open during Fridays from 6:00pm until midnight.
