Lunch at Luk Yuen Noodle House

Filipino families love celebrating special occasions together, be it a simple dinner at home or a quick stroll at the park. It shows how family-oriented people we are. It is amazing how little things become so special when you are with the people you love and it will always be incomplete without FOOD!

Luk Yuen Noodle House
Today, a member of our family just graduated from college. To celebrate the special event, the whole family ate in a Chinese restaurant in Makati City. There are many new restaurants in the metro but we still prefer a place that offers classic comfort food.

Luk Yuen is located at the ground floor of Glorietta 5. It is a Chinese-themed restaurant that offers homestyle-cooked food like congee, noodles and dimsum. The place is fresh and family-friendly. The staff are all attentive since the restaurant focuses not just on the quality of food but also in the consistency of their service.

We were immediately seated because there are already available tables for us. We ordered our food then I observed the place. Compared to other Chinese restaurants I have been to, this place is wider and more comfortable.

Starter
Pork Siomai and Spring Roll with Kutchay
Deep Fried Taro Puff
The meal started with an appetizer that looks and tastes like crackers. After it, the staff immediately served the pork siomai, spring roll and taro puff. It was my first time to taste a taro puff and it was very good.

Fried Noodles with Shredded Pork
One of their best sellers in the restaurant is their noodle. What we tried is their fried noodles with shredded pork and it was really good. I noticed that there are no pork in the noodles but there are mushrooms and fruit-like ingredient. After the noodles, we tried their yang chow fried rice partnered with stir fried shrimps and their golden fried chicken. The fried rice is good for sharing.
Yang Chow Fried Rice
Stir Fried Shrimps with Cashew
Golden Fried Chicken

The golden fried chicken is also one of the best items in their menu. It has similarities with fried chicken in other Chinese restaurants but it still has a distinct taste that makes it stand out from the rest.

The meal was very satisfying and I am willing to go back to this restaurant because of its good food and great service. They left a good impression and I recommend this place for groups like families and barkadas especially during special events.
